Chloe Escapes Frozen Northeast for Florida Sun

After our first snowfall of the season Chloe begged to join us in Florida for our vacation.  Here she is in Juno Beach finding our first south Florida box.  She really enjoyed chasing all the lizards!

Lucky for Chloe she has a fur coat!

Before the really cold weather started in Massachusetts Chloe got to play with some friendly neighborhood beavers.  But, she just couldn't gnaw on the trees like they can.

Boxing in Andover, Mass

Chloe and I spent a beautiful Saturday boxing in nearby Andover.  The area is loaded with boxes, but we went after some in the Harold Parker Forest.  There were lots of dog-walkers and mountain bikers so we had to be stealthy!
Here's Chloe with one of the stamps in the Andover Dragon's Lair series by The Merry Pranksters.  The series has 9 boxes and we found them all!

Here's Chloe posing with our first find of the day The Yellow Submarine, also by The Merry Pranksters.

Fall Boxing in the Fallen Leaves

Recently, Chloe has been enjoying boxing in the cool, fall weather.  The change of the seasons has been really beautiful and she loves running through the fallen leaves!  Chloe also has helped me with two Christmas postals we mailed out today.  She had fun supervising me as I carved the stamps and constructed the logbooks!

37 Boxes in one day!

Wow,  Chloe's paws are sure tired tonight after searching for 37 boxes today.  We did a series of 36 dedicated to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Hopkinton, MA.  We found a 37th one dedicated to Scott and Lisa who had just gotten married.  Unfortunently my camera battery was dead, so I couldn't get any pics of Chloe digging out these great little stamps.  She was a real trooper!

CHLOE VISITS NEW HAMPSHIRE

This past weekend Chloe enjoyed some much needed rest in New Hampshire.  Of course, there was lots of letterboxing, too!  Here's Chloe at Eisenhower Wayside Park in Bretton Woods.  It was a beautiful, clear day with great views of the White Mountains.

Chloe helped find the Happy Hiker box on the top of Wildcat Mountain after an exciting gondola ride.  She was thrilled to learn the box is located on the Appalachian Trail and is thinking of hiking from Georgia to Maine soon.

Here's the future AT thru-hiker posing for the camera.  There are a ton of letterboxes along the Appalachian Trail.  I think she is planning on stopping at every one!

Chloe Loves Rock Climbing!

Here's Chloe and her friend Cherry taking in the view from the top of Red Rock in Gloucester.  We had to do some tough rock climbing to get to this box, but it was worth the work!  Tropical Storm Hanna was on the way, so it was an overcast, muggy day.  A little bad weather never slowed us down!

Once we got to the top of Red Rock it took us quite a while to locate the box.  Once we found the box Chloe volunteered to climb into the space between two big rocks to get it, but she changed her mind when she saw the big spider guarding the box!  Luckily Hubby was there, and he's brave, so we sent him to get the box.  That's chivalry!

Chloe Visits Vermont

Chloe spent Labor Day weekend with AFBrat, Hubby and Cherry the Chick in Vermont.  She toured Ben and Jerry's where she learned how ice cream is made, then she ate too much of the yummy stuff!!  Phish Food is her favorite, of coarse!  She was a good girl and licked all her paws clean.  Here's Chloe and her friend Cherry posing at Battery Park in front of Lake Champlain in Burlington.

On Sunday Chloe got to ride in a gondola to the top of the highest mountain in Vermont, Mount Mansfield.  She really enjoyed the ride, and wasn't scared of heights at all!  Here's AFBrat hanging out at the top of mountain with Chloe and Cherry the Chick.

Here's Chloe helping us find the How to Earn Your French Fries box in Burlington.  The hunt started at a yellow bus called Beansie's, which has been selling french fries since the 1940's.  We had some of the famous fries and really enjoyed them.   Chloe's being a good girl and I think she is having a lot of fun with us!

Chloe goes Boxing

Photobucket

AFBrat had a day off from work today, so what do you think girls do on a day off?  Go to the spa, get their nails and hair done.....NO!  They go letterboxing!  This morning when I got up I found Chloe had packed the Boxing Bag and was waiting with car keys in paw!  After coffee and breakfast we set out to tackle the Flintstones Meet the Jetsons Series carved and placed by Lundy and Vickster.  We made our way to Bradley Palmer State Park in Topsfield, Massachusetts and had a lovely day hiking and stamping. We found every box and even a hitchhiker!  Chloe was such a big help digging the boxes out and rehiding them. What a great day!

Chloe the Kitty has arrived in Massachusetts

Chloe the Kitty visits AFBrat

Chloe's Here!!
Chloe arrived safely Saturday evening and after unpacking and having a bite to eat, challenged us to a game of UNO.  Of coarse, she won!  She's a giggly little thing!  On Sunday she accompanied AFBrat and Hubby to Maine for a little sightseeing and letterboxing.  She sure does enjoy stamping in.  I think she'd use up all the ink if we don't watch her.

Chloe arrives in NC!

April 26, 2008

I made it safe and sound in Roxboro, NC to visit oceanwinds the end of April. I was so ready for boxing when I got there, but we did our exchanges first :)

I got to meet lots of other letterboxers while I was there. I got some postals too. We went to Blue Jay Point Park to do some letterboxing, that was a lot of fun.

I even got to help them plant some boxes on for the 3rd Annual Plant a Letterbox Day :)

oceanwinds sent me home with a nice photo album filled with pictures, a new bag and even made a cute little felt pouch for my signature stamp.

Even though I just came from home, I will be returning home for a new logbook, but my family tells me I will be heading out again within a week. Can't wait to see where I'll be going next.

Chloe stops home

I got back home in NY in mid/late April. Everyone was so happy to see me as I was them :)

I had so much to tell them about all my adventures.

I stayed home for a couple weeks, but then I wanted to go visit more places. Sadly my family agreed to let me go visit more letterboxing families.

They told me I was heading down to NC...my family visits friends in NC every year! I'm looking forward to my trip.

Chloe visits Vlobos

March 15, 2008

I went to visit Vlobos during the month of March. I got to find boxes in a couple different states while visiting them.

They took me to a coffee shop to find a letterbox. I asked if I could have some coffee while we were there, but they told me I was too young :( I guess I really am, but hey I got a Smoothie instead YUMMY!!!

We went to a place called Cedarville State Park in Maryland, but for a brief moment I thought they were taking me home...back home there is a small town named Cedarville that is only a few miles from home.

My next stop is home for a quick visit with my family. I sure did miss them while I've been gone and I'm sure they missed me too.

Next stop...Alabama!!

January 20, 2008

In January, I headed to Pelham, AL to visit TheOutdoor4.

I got to go to a mini-meet, got some exchanges, did some postals, found some boxes, planted some boxes and even got a cootie or two.

We went to a place called Moss Rock Preserve, wow we found lots of boxes there! We found a Hitchhiker Hostel too, that was really cool, I've heard of these before, but never saw one until now :)

Connecticut here I come!

My first stop on my Boxing Buddy journey was in Killingworth, CT. I was hosted by Fish or Man. That was in November/December 2207.

We didn't get to do much boxing though because his dog got sick :( Poor little guy, I hope he's doing better now.

Meet Chloe!

My name is Chloe and I'm a little kitty. I went letterboxing with my family one day last year and loved it :) I had so much fun hunting for boxes!

We live in a small town and my family has found most of the local boxes, so they gave me the opportunity to travel to other parts of the USA and maybe someday I'll get to visit another country as a Boxing Buddy :)

I love meeting new people, finding letterboxes and even postals.

I also love to play that great card came UNO - I even travel with my own kitty sized deck :)

Although this blog was created long after I became a Boxing Buddy, I will post where I've been up until now at least :)
